“The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the LORD.” Psalm 33:5

For a moment, early this morning, I went back to the beginning.  Let me process out loud.

If we go back to the beginning of earth’s time clock, the second grievance which took place was when Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed the serpent. Their accusations were only partially correct, and neither chose to reveal the most essential factor, the condition of their own heart.

God, the Father, stepped in and released His Justice. Justice applied meant there would be a confrontation with the innermost part of one’s heart. Go ahead and read between the lines. Yikes, indeed, the work of Justice does not always look pretty, nor is it comfortable. God confronted Adam, Eve, and the serpent.

In the confronting, He did not position Adam and Eve as victims, but as royalty. Adam and Eve were the beginning of His first family, loved of God. Yes, His family – His friends with whom He cherished time. He sought to reach their hearts again. His direct questions were of that magnitude—Justice upon what God lost.

God’s Justice meant Adam, for a season, would sweat as he tilled the soil of the womb of the earth. God’s Justice meant Eve, for a season, would experience pain as her womb contracted giving birth to the next generation. God’s Justice for the serpent meant he would drag himself along the soil of the earth until his eternal demise eternally sealed.

Justice will not calm the inner fear of loss or death, but instead will shake it up UNTIL the heart is delivered from fear’s stronghold of loss and death. Yes, confronted is the seed titled ‘loss and death,’ implanted in a human soul when eaten was the unintended fruit of ‘the tree’.

A call for Justice opens the gate for Justice to come. The result? A shaking. It is the shaking that manifests a deliverance of what is yet harbored within a human soul. The result is freedom, making room for righteousness.

Fear of death has silently been trophied more than fear of the Giver of LIFE. Those yielded to God will gain victory in this area.

Never the less I live, but Christ …
Jesus’ blood speaks a better word than that of Abel …

Righteousness reveals Itself through one who has received the work of Justice.

“I put on righteousness, and it clothed me;
My justice was like a robe and a turban.” Job 29:14

“He will bring forth your righteousness as the light
and Your judgment as the noonday.” Psalm 37:6

“Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land. Lovingkindness and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth springs from the earth, And righteousness looks down from heaven. Indeed, the LORD will give what is good, And our land will yield its produce.” Psalm 85:9-12

“By this, the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious:
anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God,
nor the one who does not love his brother.”
1 John 3:10

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse,
and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness
He judges and wages war.” Revelation 19:11

In Hebrew and Arabic, the word mercy and womb share the same root word. As we ask for Justice let’s remember Jesus’ gift of the cross abolished what we deserved. The womb of His mercy birthed and released resurrection’s power. He cloaks Himself in Righteousness. His head covered in Justice fulfilled.

Yield to the shaking long enough to proclaim, “Father have mercy. Into Your hands, I yield my spirit!” In so doing, LIFE Himself will take His place on the throne of our souls.

ps. Christ is seated near His Father. From His vantage point we rule. This is the Tree of Life of Whom we eat. It is He from whom we share vision – perspective – insight. Let’s draw near to the One who is worthy of His inheritance. After all, it is His inheritance we are called to prepare, Justice for all!
