On my social media pages, these thoughts that come to me at the crack of dawn are usually simply titled, “Morning Thoughts”. This specific one is a little painful, but worth the read…. Well, at least I think so. My words are not being written with a loud decibel in volume, but with sadness in my heart towards anyone who is experiencing the rebuttal of another’s rejection and sadness and hope for the one who is in a place of internal self-rejection.
Our society today is not allowing for “clear talk” everything needs to be “politically correct” or acceptable to all thoughts of life. How confusing to the generations. Since Jesus is the creator of mankind and in Him and through Him all things hold together, well than I think that His teachings and His directions provided are the best to emulate. SO, here we go.
Opportunity to evaluate:
If someone’s negative experience is our invitation to “stand taller”–to feel better about our identity-our self evaluation-our circumstances, it is time for a “love check.” If someone’s dark moment has given us permission to spurn the other then it is time to diagnose our heart condition.
Self rejection, jealousy, anger, comparisons, unresolved issues, and/or unhealthy wounds are painful, but they are not reason to abandon those who God has placed in our lives. Abandoning them in their darkest moments is proof of our internal self struggles. If we are not able to reach out and help in times of need (because of our personal weakness) that is one thing, but to make decisions against the individual based on the feeling of relief (that the other person is “finally experiencing pain”) is an expression of darkness–light cannot be found in it.
Love covers, love protects, love grieves with another, love touches and embraces, love is kind, love is gentle, love weeps when another is in crisis, love prefers the needs of another, love____________….
If we know someone who is struggling today we should knock on their door with flowers, a hug, a tear, and strength in hand; embrace them and letting them know we adore them. Because, whether we truly love them or not this act of kindness is proof that we have determined to set our insecurities aside; in order to, manifest true love. In doing so we are allowing LOVE out of the prison of our own self measurements.
Our personal self definition does not improve through another’s pain. If our reaction is quiet resentment, intolerance, inner freedom, then we ourselves need healing and deliverance. If that is the case, then these moments of testing can be a perfect opportunity for self change.
True love is:
“We are bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
Love never dies…..”
1 Corinthians 13 (the message bible)
The best self evaluation tool:
From the moment He was placed in His mother’s womb demon’s wanted Him abandoned. It took an angel approaching Joseph to save Mary and her baby from being stoned to death or shamed for life (placed in an obscure place for her remaining days on earth).
From the moment He was born they tried to kill him. Millions of babies were slaughtered in attempt to stop Him from living a full life — breath in His lungs.
From the moment His announcer opened his voice, governments tried to stop His coming. The announcement temporarily stopped by John the Baptizer’s beheading. It was too late though, He was already walking the land.
From the moment He demonstrated a life of favor, they tried to find fault with Him. They exaggerated, fabricated, and left Him with no place to rest His head. He did not hide behind self righteous acts of surface behaviors, but conquered every weakness.
From the moment He announced His destiny, religious leaders tried to throw Him off the cliff. His favor would mean their need for transformation–exposing their leadership flaws was too difficult for pride. God hid Him beneath His wing and He past right thru them unseen.
From the moment His moment came to carry the transgressions of the world onto Cross’s Alter, they laughed at Him with internal anger and outward mockery. His blood poured freely, as if in defeat. Little did they know….
From the moment LIFE won, they continued in the lies of their heart–unchanged, they tried to find death and could only fabricate the lie that He still remained in a tomb. This even though resurrection power’s light blinded the eyes of those who were watching tomb’s stone through the night.
Jesus never gloated in another’s failure.
He never cheered while another was sick.
He never feasted glory while another fell in sin.
He never sang while another wept.
Jesus released miracles to those who were in their dark moments.
Jesus released mercy to those in need.
Jesus expressed love to those who hated.
Intentionally, unintentionally, subconsciously or consciously why would we choose a different standard, than that given to us by The Father; who loves us beyond description, and demonstrated our highest potential through the life of our elder brother, Jesus Christ?
Do we expect to be treated right by demons of rejection and self abasement? Are we attempting to altar light by agreeing with darkness? Is rejection our defining ruler? Is it true that how we handle our weakness defines us? If any of these answers are found to be ,”yes,” then rather then cheer when another is in pain or blame another (even like Adam and Eve blamed each other), we will benefit greatly if we take responsibility for our part and begin the “redeemed path” walk.
For God so loved the world that He gave His own begotten son. God is not asking us to die upon a literal cross, but He sure is inviting us to walk a daily life of the fruit of the cross. It is no longer I that liveth but Christ who lives in me.
Light shines in darkness beautifully. Let Him shine!!!
